We would like to announce the publication of a new book edited by Eugene Rabkin, our editor-in-chief. It’s a monograph on the history of one of our all-time favorite jewelers, Werkstatt:Munchen. Founded in Munich by Klaus Lohmeyer 25 years ago, the brand has become synonymous with unparalleled craftsmanship. Everything Werkstatt:Munchen produces is made by hand in a single atelier in Munich. Lohmeyer and his team design and craft every element of the jewelry, including commonly outsourced, prefab elements, such as bracelet and chain closures. It’s rough-hewn yet elegant esthetic reflects that hand-crafted approach.
The book consists of four parts that will take you from the Werkstatt:Munchen universe – Craft, Inspiration, Work, and Atelier. It features a foreword by Ann Demeulemeester, for whose brand Werkstatt:Munchen has produced jewelry in the past, several conversations between Eugene Rabkin and Klaus Lohmeyer, a contributor text by Karlo Steel, and all new photography by Matteo Carcelli. Art directed and designed by Florian Schmitt.
The book is now available on the Werkstatt:Munchen website and in select stores that stock the jewelry.
