The New StyleZeitgeist Website

Dear StyleZeitgeist community,

Welcome to the new StyleZeitgeist website. Over the years the StyleZeitgeist universe has grown to include a forum, a magazine, and a web shop. For various reasons we have created different websites for them to operate in ways that seemed suitable at the time. But Internet technology evolves quickly and we must keep pace. Besides technical reasons, we wanted to make it easier for our audience to understand the StyleZeitgeist world. I have met many people who know the magazine but not the forum, and vice versa. Taking the StyleZeitgeist magazine from print to digital was another major reason for this change.

The new website combines all the elements of our venture in a website that satisfies contemporary Internet standards. We want you to think of StyleZeitgeist as a platform that combines a fashion forum, a magazine, and e-commerce. Some enhancements include:

Major Changes

A complete reworking of the magazine’s website, its 650+ articles and the treasure trove of our 8000+ images into a brand new shiny layout. We have added a much needed search function, search engine optimization, a tagging system, and easy linking to social media. We have organized our articles into an instantly understandable and visually stunning grid format with easy access to news categories.

Forum

The forum section of the new StyleZeitgeist had undergone an upgrade that makes it responsive, and we have implemented a new grayscale theme for it.

Discussions

There will be a deeper integration between the magazine and the forum. Most articles we will post will have a link to a corresponding discussion. For example, if we post a runway report, at a press of a button at the end of it you will be redirected to an appropriate thread on the forum, should you like to discuss this particular collection.

Mobile Website

The entire website will be responsive and will look equally good on whatever device, desktop or mobile, you use to access it.

Social Media

Our various social media will now be combined under one umbrella. For example, all social media from our web shop, @otherfashion will now go under @stylezeitgeist. Our hitherto dormant Twitter account @stylezeitgeist will come alive as our new article posting system will automatically push articles out to our social media. We invite you to join us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat @stylezeitgeist.

Lightbox

The new lightbox for photos will have touch gestures for mobile devices, a zoom, a full screen view capability and easy sharing on social media.

Feedback

It is inevitable that things do not go 100% smoothly for such an undertaking. We therefore welcome your feedback. After today’s release we will continue updating the website, and your comments will certainly help.
We look forward to sharing this new experience with you.

Kind regards,

Eugene Rabkin
