Rick Owens S/S21 Women’s – Paris

We would like to present to you Rick Owens’ Spring/Summer 2021 Women’s Paris collection lookbook. This season the women’s runway show was presented in the piazza in front of the Lido Casino, a 1930s rationalist palazzo, that Owens walks by everyday when he spends his summers in Venice’s Lido, the site of Thomas Mann’s novella “Death in Venice”. The main character in the story develops an obsession with a youth and subsequently dies from cholera during an epidemic, quite fittingly, where the word “quarantine” originated during Italy’s response to the bubonic plague, imbuing a great deal of resonance within our time for the location of the show.
