this looks really nice too, mona. i actually just meant to compliment kira with my original post. i think her look trumped a lot of the others girls who have had the gull to post a waywt. though things seem to be improving. what's the big deal? i usally preface most of my waywt's with 'nothing special' or something to that tune. les blows all of us out of the water. if i had said pm sent game over about alberts side zips no one would give a fucking shit. its not sexist to say one chick's outfit is better than anothers. its just stating the pretty blatantly obvious. im all for balance too, but getting giddy over mediocre outfits because a girl is wearing it and not many girls post here is a pretty pathetic way to achieve it. you live in newyork, don't you? you actually find a chick in a leather jacket that big of a deal still? what is this TFS?

this was quite a nice post from you... not because you complimented me but because you were being thoughtful and i appreciate it. les is quite something. i agree and i dont think it is sexist to say one "chick's" (you know i have to dig there)look is better than another's along with one dude's outfit being better than another's. but we like to hear why. especially me. even though:

Baby, my objection was not to a specific criticism or a compliment. I don't find it constructive or even relevant to say that one guy here is better dressed than another simply using the fact that they are both men as a point of comparison. Similarly, comparing one girl's look to the best of the boys looks seems unproductive - what is this ranking business, and what does it mean? What is best? Despite the dominance of a certain genre of aesthetic on this board, it seems to me that everyone dresses in a distinct enough manner that comparing their relative "goodnesses" seems meaningless.

i don't think it's meaningless at all. i think that's basically the entire point of the waywt -- to gauge how well one twines together an outfit. some will naturally ( and monetarily) do it better than others. and wasn't the objective of this forum originally, and i paraphrase, to be overly hyper analytical about design and fashion and aesthetic and what's good and what isn't so good...so why shouldn't the same logic be extended to the waywt. lowery dresses the sharpest for a white boy, kira and CHRIS are both the two top notch females, and if krunk hadn't been keg-standing steriods for ever he might have the biggest one. ciao bellaz.

The "art" of dressing is something that I don't really believe in overanalyzing or scrutinizing - at the end of the day it's just clothes on your back, it don't mean a thing if you ain't got that swing!

They're from H&M and I suppose were intended to be clubbing type jewelry but I saw them and immediately thought of elephant hair (glad hair occurred to you as well), so I bought a whole bunch and stuck them together. I would say the exact contrary. Imo it's only when the clothes are on your back, and get that personal "swing", that discussion can really start.
Discussing about fashion and on hanger hooked clothes might be interesting but a tad abstract. Clothes need incarnation, and the WAYWT should be the practical side of the more theoretical reflexion. It's the same difference as between the philosophical approach to art and the aesthetic/semeiological one : one is about art in general (which means imo almost nothing), second is, through commenting and analysing a single piece, a tangible confrontation with the work of art - or art at work.

But the main problem of the WAYWT (in pictures) is that it will always be lacking in movement, the real swing.

I have just one comment to make on the whole draaaaama. i find it a little irritating when poeope say that one member blows everyone else out of the water or something similar, and i certainly draw no gender based distinction here. i think there's a little edge to it and i can see how it could put some peoples' backs' up. i personally don't like the way les looks, although i can appreciate that he knows how to put an outfit together in a particular way, so i could never say that he looks better than anyone else. or that he doesn't.

anyway i have a question for mike - is the luc cardigan you're wearing specifically meant for women, or is it a men's version? i've only seen it on pollyana and lazzari, both in the womens section. i think it looks fantastic and am thinking of kopping, but would like to get the right size. and there's no way i'd buy a women's cardigan...eughh. ghey.
