I'm of the opinion it's not possible to make bright red boots look good. Or the green version for that matter. It can't be done.

Too much contrast going on right now (black belt right beside white shirt, grey pants beside painfully red shoes).
About the belt.
Really, I don't know, again IRL there's no problem. In addition, it's not black, but more of a very dark green/brown. But what Mail-Moth said is that it cuts the outfit in two parts and emphasize too much the delimitation. Yes, but why not ?, since it's always been the structural function of a belt. Aren't you tranferring on the belt the proportion problem that is actually caused by the shape of the trousers ? Just an hypothesis...
But I agree nevertheless : it would work without belt (or a lighter one), and it'd maybe be even better.
No, there won't be any blazer.
The breaks : to make them "look good" is not the question.Last edited by Chant; 05-13-2012, 05:22 AM.

Christian, in my opinion being able to generate a debate is as exciting as coming up with the perfect fit. So no I don't think it was a fail.
I reckon dark shades of grey would be a good alternative to the all black ensemble.

Agreed with Faust. I'm still on the black suit + red boots trip.
Same old, same old but it was a bit since I last contributed.
Polish Spring ie. going from sweating in 28 degrees to knits and leathers in a matter of one day. But I take it as a gift for finishing my matura exams, 4 months of vacations till studies now, yay.
(also the B&B project is on its way but it'll take a bit with my unruly facial hair)

Second round

Now, please tell me that I should have gone for a black belt.

i like the proportion of the pants with the sneakers, but they seem limited to this specific context.
as for the black outfits, without surprise, i prefer the "safe" choice. i think it would be interesting to try black pants + white shirt + dark grey blazer. perhaps if the grey does not directly interact with the red, the overall result will be more coherent.
