diamond's striking olive/brown turtleneck makes a nice contrast against his dark ensemble. His metallic shoes compliment the shiny nature of his navy, nylon jacket. Since the bottom of his jacket reaches his crotch at the stance he's in, standing straight it would end directly between his waist and his crotch. This is aesthetically pleasing for the common silhouette that he displays. Also, the sudden introduction of color, in his midsection, and the quirkiness of his shoes balance each other in terms of focus points, especially for one who is close enough to observe the details of his outfit because I believe that the shoes would not be noticed at a considerable distance because of it's dark color. Or maybe the shoes are lighter in person? I'd love to hear other opinions.
this is all wrong, though i appreciate it ?
the overcoat is waxed millerain and kind of dull, the turtleneck is olive and the shoes are kiiiind of flashy.

no offense, but i think you're totally over analyzing a simple outfit. Does/can anyone here really put that much thought into a single outfit?
I guess this is a forum to discuss fashion, but can't we sometimes just take things for what they are?
"AVANT GUARDE HIGHEST FASHION. NOW NOW this is it people, these are the brands no one fucking knows and people are like WTF. they do everything by hand in their freaking secret basement and shit."

And what are they ?
Fabric + colour + shape, all combinated together, and paired with other clothes. Exactly what joniF was talking about.
In addition, it was a reply to genevieveryoko.
But you'd maybe prefer :
1°) "Nice !"/"Not nice !"
2°) "Anyway, to each his own."
Hm, personally I sometimes enjoy over-interpreting things in life.
Not clothingwise, rather in the vocal sub-text, paired with facial expression, posture and past experience with the individual. I try to figure out about the individual disposition, intentions and even implicit ... well ... drive (no, I am not a Neo-Freudian!).
Nothing taken too serious of these interpretations of course, but sometimes they may have some right aspects and, the main fact why I write this, is they sharpen the look for the little things in everyday life.
Although diamonds might not have thought much about his outfit and just put something nice and fitting on, the little details which are not obvious at all are enriching for those who get them. Not in particular in reference to diamonds outfit, but simply to everything (haha).
Well enough for sunday's speech.
I have dreams of orca whales and owls
But I wake up in fear

Indeed, since Freud himself would stigmatize it as "Wilde Analyse".
