I saw these and liked them- and I hadn't liked the leather steroid ones.
But then I thought- aren't the steroids the whole point? The AF1 popped tongue but bigger giant shoes joke?
The old trainers look like "nice shoes" whereas the new ones + steroids are some kind of postmodern statement. My friend described as, "a sneaker about sneakers."
Without pomo self-referential steroids are these just kind of nice high-tops with a zipper for nike price +600?

imo both pre- and post-steroid models are awesome and unrivaled by any designer or non-designer sneaker. this is coming from an ex-nike junkie.

I've always really hated the RO trainers posted on here, as being hideous jokes passed off as design. They're caricatures of the over-the-top nike trainers, and like caricatures, they strike me as very unflattering. I like the trainers posted above, though they don't look particularly special. They are nice trainers for someone seeking trainers.

^ i kind of agree, however i find the dbss sneakers to be an excellent alternative as its abit toned down in chunkyness with regards to the ro trainers.

I truly don't get how a pair of sneakers can be the object of desire for someone with that price tag. there's nothing to be mesmerised about. it's just hype. but I believe we've had this discussion before. How can someone drool over totally plain sneakers?!

while the colourway is quite plain and there aren't that many details, they have a pretty unique shape. I think its all about the silhouette with Rick sneakers, they are quite distuinqhisable but actually not very flamboyant in person imo. I dont even own a pair, but wouldn't mind having that colourway.
