Not a purchase... but someone was throwing away an old black all-leather couch today (left by the dumpster)
... so I took a pair of scissors to it and removed all the large sheets of leather from it.
It's lovely soft broken in leather that has clearly been exposed to the elements for some time. I probably have about 30-40 square feet of the stuff to work with now :)
Great for making prototypes and also just to work with cowhide to get used to sewing leather!
D, it was not too far from my front door at the complex. Definitely not streetside... even if it was I'd do it hahaha. The only person that said anything was in a SUV bringing his two little kids somewhere and he first asked if it was real leather and when I said yes, he said that was smart hehehehe

Sounds...well, sound. Although if that was me, I'd be deathly afraid of bringing errant bedbugs into my home. There's been an upsurge in the populations of those vermin, especially in NYC.
