two pairs of comfortable, everyday sort of footwear:
i searched and searched for the perfect pair of oxfords, finally i found these lanvins...the toe is perfect, not too pointy and not too round
fiorentini & baker - they're no guidis ...but they're good for what they are (although i wish they didn't have those silly creases)
last, i decided to give my book collection a make-over...slowly i'm trading out the ugly paperbacks for editions with more character

That's uber-cool, yorko.Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months - Oscar Wilde

I've been doing the opposite lately. Been downloading my books to my Kindle and storing the physical ones away. I must confess that I can't be bored to read 'real' books since I got my Kindle. So now the only books left on my shelves are the ones with the best looking covers.
So I guess I might add this to the recent purchases thread:
Kindle with black leather cover. Very addictive.

I've picked up reading again, used to do it obsessively when i was young but got caught up with too much stuff during my late teens. Been devouring books lately, and I'm considering a kindle as well, but the initial sunk cost is the main deterrent.

Am I really the only person who resents Amazon charging more for the Kindle version than for the paperback and still not bothering to proofread and properly format the book? Every one I have bought is riddled with typos. If I buy one more Kindle history book in which it is not possible to view the maps and the legend on the same page I'm giving up on it.

I've mostly been downloading books from Gutenberg Project, which is easy and free and the quality ranges from decent to great. There are some great classics to be found. I've been re-reading a lot of Oscar Wilde lately, he is really fantastic. Also I've found a lot of Balzac that I couldn't find i Danish public libraries. All in all I think the $200 I spent on the Kindle was well worth it! That's three hard cover books.
