Gilt is a members-only shopping service that makes a given brand available for discount prices for a brief period. I don't know the logistics behind the service (where they get the clothes, whether hits is sanctioned by the brands, etc). Up to now, they've only carried womenswear, and they've had some interesting selections. Today they announced the start of men's sales; the initial brands they've described are boring, but I think the idea has potential.

I don't remember how I wound up with an invite to this, but if anyone is interested, I can try to track it down.

leather goods to ties.

I'm a member too, so can invite. Judging by their womens though, I doubt we'd be buying anything there...

Granted, the brands aren't ***********, but the Jil Sander wearing side of me has liked some women's pieces. It will be interesting to see how the service evolves; simply given the frequency with which make clothing available, I think there's potential for them to stumble onto something cool.

It's not boutique-style shopping like eluxury. They send periodic emails with one-day sales of a specific designer. The initial men's list is weak (Varvatos, etc). Sign up here. Jil Sander is unlikely.
