    Samples Sales around the world.

    Hello guys,

I hope you're all doing well.

Since I've been working for Damir two years ago, I really got interested by avantgardism through fashion.

I've heard now about many many many designers using experimental, artisanal and raw technics to create high end and quality garments.
My favorite brands at the moment are : Nicolas Andreas Taralis, Lumen et Umbra, Damir Doma and Maurizio Amadei.

I also like CCP, BBS, LUC and Isaac Sellam.

I started to get many garments from some brands but most of them are very very expensive so I often go to sample and archives sales because I'm living in Paris. But it's very hard to know which brands are organizing some sales and where they do at the current moment.

I know NAT and DD are organizing in Paris at least once a year (april for sure). Do you know which brands settle samples sales and where?

It would be nice from you to share this kind of tips.

    Thank you all.

    D.

InAisce seems to be doing sales in NYC a few times a year. Alexandre Plokhov had one two. And, of course, there the famous bi-annual stock sales in Antwerp.

I'm sure they're a lot of sample sales in Italy but I don't know which brands exactly.

A friend of mine was able to go for a MA+ one getting an amazing bag and a leather coat for very interesting prices.

Problem in France is that stores selling these brands are using a very high margin. I'm working in showrooms all year long so I know there is no way for me to follow their struggling princes + you will find only three or four stores specialized.

Wow nice, I wish I've been living in NY lol.

Damir and Taralis are communicating about it on their own FB pages. Last ones were in April. Prices are very good at NAT but you can find interesting stuff at Damir especially for shoes and coats.

LNCC are often doing very good pricing during sales for shoes so you should try there too.

Yes it's very nice at Damir Doma because you can find a lot of sizes during the sample sales.

Best prices are done on the jackets and coat : Jackets for 150 to 200€ (not including leather of course) and coats not over 300. But it's approximative, it can change from one to another.

Shoes are depending from Silent to DD but it won't go over 180€ for the best sneakers. Also, the showroom is very nice and it's not messy.

There is a picture I took from the samples sales I've been working on during 2011.

                These prices are incredible indeed!
How do one check for sample sales except but subscribing to each designer website news (if it has any) and checking threads like these.
I envy those who live in NYC, looks like most of sample sales are there.

Liking their Facebook pages is a good start.

Lol yes Facebook pages are a good way to get notifications from their events.

What is hard as newcomer like me is to know in which countries you can find samples sales.

I definitely prefer to go for samples sales for three reasons :

                    - To afford incredibles prices
                    - To find old collections, archives or even protos
                    - To meet people with a similar taste of fashion

Best sales I made was Taralis where I got more than 10 pieces for less than 250€ including pants, denims, shirts and jerseys.
I wasn't inspired by coats or jackets, I'd prefer to get a MA+ coat for winter.

Seems in NYC you can find amazing sample sales like Alexandre Plokhov and many others! But it's too far for me lol

Considering your taste you should go to the Yohji sale, this year it happened at the same time as the Taralis sale.

Margiela has sample sales from time to time, don't think it is a yearly thing or maybe I just miss it often. Good for women and men size 48 (not me).

                        Hello Fuuma,

Yes I do like Yohji especially the jackets! Pants don't fit me very well because I'm too skinny :(

                        I don't like Margiela anymore ... and yeah i'm more 44/46 so ^^

So he's organizing sample sales in Paris? I never heard about it XD

CDG is doing sample sales too in Paris but only once every two or three years. At least you are sure to find lot of stuff. Unfortunately, this is hard to get an invitation :(
