hmm I guess what I really want an opinion on is if that price seem fair.
Does somebody have experience with Dirain stuff?
I've been looking for some shorts / leggins layered thing and came across these. I have no idea how short the shorts are and how the thing looks worn. Neither do I have a clue on sizing.
Or wether it is a stupid idea to wear something like this.
I have dreams of orca whales and owls
But I wake up in fear
I like it. It combines a structured back and sleeves with drape quite effortlessly, and I could see it worn with pretty much anything, from blue jeans + t-shirts to formal outfits. That said, it doesn't feel very substantial from the photos.

Cognitive dissonance between the words "safe choice" "beginner" and Gareth Pugh. I like the coat if you're going for a drapey aesthetic, but if you are unsure of your style maybe best to stick to more simple/classic/inexpensive pieces until you gain your footing.

Is it a relatively safe first choice for a beginner? is it too feminine?
It looks like a bathrobe to me, and the idea of wearing it with blue jeans and a t-shirt has to be a joke. I'd personally suggest passing and getting a more classic piece (... and you can get quite a nice coat for $850).
if you're a 'beginner' gareth pugh is probably not something to begin with. build up from some more standard pieces before you get saucy with a pugh bathrobe. what's in your wardrobe that you could actually wear that with? also, it doesn't look like much of a coat, i.e., not really an outwear piece, too thin.
