F/W 2012/13 - New Arrivals

just got back from ro ny.

the good:

the leathers are generally nice, lightly oiled
the fabrics, especially blazers and pants are the nicest i can recall
the leather flight jacket despite sounding like a fail is a big win, and padded with real down

the bad:

the shearlings are not full shearling, the sleeves are thin leather
the one that looks like the geo is overly embellished and puffy through the body
the one that looks like the intarsia doesn't let you zip it up very high

they also, imo, combine too many kinds of leather

Did you see (or try) the spiral boots kunk? Interested in how the leather on those are.

They aren't getting the spiral boot at all. They don't know when the bauhaus is coming. The duvet leather bomber will come in an asymmetrical version that sounds interesting.

The shearlings do not look very good in person - the combination of shearling and oiled-calf sleeves and trim is hideous.

was wondering what sort of iteration the swinger pants came in this season in terms of fabrics used, quite liked the woven one in the S/S but decided to hold on wait till i see this seasons product

I went ahead and jumped into a pair of high waisted Rick trousers and although it's weird to wear them about a foot higher than where I would normally wear my pants the fit and material are gorgeous. Really slim in the leg, baggy but still sharp. Definitely more exciting than wearing another pair of pod shorts ( I bought another pair of those too, just for balance).
