    Individual Sentiments SS2011

showroom shots for the SS11 collection. this was one of my favourite collections this season, beautiful fabrics as always, cuts were mostly familiar from earlier seasons with some new ones and some modified versions.

this season, she also did a number of womens pieces including a few dresses, long dress-type shirts, a skirt and some basics. also some stunning heels made from beautiful leather supplied by Guidi.

more item shots can be viewed here: http://scoute.org/blog/?p=688

one button blazer in very nice linen/silk mesh.

hooded jacket - another impressive material, cotton/linen/rayon/ramie mixture, thick but stretchy with a cool texture.

leather shirt, thick but soft lamb leather, one of the nicest leather shirts I've seen in a while. off white and black.

suit - the material is actually jersey but feels very substantial. quite thick but still flexible. beautiful "snow gray" colour, also available in black.

wow, at those shoes. they are really beautiful.

the snow gray suit is very nice as well. do you remember how many buttons it has? are they traditional buttons or the ones that require you to loop a string around them to close?

the suit jacket has two string buttons. you don't need to wrap the string though, the button goes between the strings, making it sort of like a button hole.

its really stunning, a perfect combination of a classic cut tailored suit done in a unique material with signature details.

Very nice. It's almost cliche to say this at this point, but these photos wouldn't excite me as much if I didn't already have first hand experience handling the garments and knowing how amazing the fabrics and construction are.

Personally not feeling the women's collection. Seems a little too shapeless and 'sleepy', leaving much to be desired.

Men's on the other hand...win. That light linen with cloudy texture looks amazing. I hope other garments were made with it as well, even though I'd be happy just with this coat.

Fit of the white pants looks great too, particularly the stacking.

              shapeless?

I think the twisted cut on the skirt, for example, is really nice. the waist is pretty neat as its sort of folded over when worn. same for the dress, its a simple piece but definitely has her touch to it (gathered sleeve openings, shawl collar).

I think its also worth noting that this is Yoko's first attempt at womens wear

Note taken. But I suppose it's also a matter of this style on women not being my cup of tea. I can't find a good way to describe my feeling from it...but from the two dresses and the dress on the hanger, I'm not that excited. Could be the model or the lack of 'tactile experience' but I feel like I want something more from it.

I've seen ladies who wear IS, as it's rather androgynous, and its worked well. But maybe I was expecting more of a feminine touch for the official 'womens wear'.

Love this collection as did all other IS stuff. The derbies are awesome as seen on FW10. My personal favorite is the drop crotch and cropped trousers and the blazers. I think the fabric and the texture that it reveals are the best part about her stuff. Definitely looking forward to seeing some of them in person.

I actually like that she takes the time to develop the brand. While the cuts are usually the same ones from season to season, the new fabrics and colours do bring a breath of fresh air.

Also I'm glad she's making those derbies again, a must cop for sure.

Yeah, I have to say that this line just keeps getting better and better.
And the photographs really do capture the amazing quality of the fabrics.
I loved some of the earlier AW pieces but seemed like there were always other items I was hunting for an didn't go on the hunt for IS.

Definitely become a line that's worth going out of the way to search for.
