I don't think it's a deception at all...KVA is a lackluster designer and delivers as expected.

No Dane, I don't agree at all!
Most of the negative reactions to KVA for DH were only because some kept stiched to Slimane area and did not understand it could not be the same afterwards he left. KVA couldn't be Slimane anymore when he took DH! Don't forget that what you think to be Slimane was for a great part KVA as well!
One can dislike KVA's work for DH but all the collections he did before this one had something and have been inventive. And successful...I perfectly understand you can dislike KVA's work but the difference with this collection today is that there is nothing inventive, nothing fresh, nothing young, nothing risky, nothing impertinent...it looks like many other designers did before for Hermes, Vuitton and worst...Cerruti...
      There is no signature!
This is soooooo boring, uninventive, old style, snob....!!!!!

I stand by my comment. He's never had one interesting idea translate on the runway. The only reason he's still designing for Dior is because people with no taste and not enough guts to wear something interesting keep buying his mundane clothing for their "going out" outfits. I commend him for keeping his job...but he's basically Neil Barrett with a catchier name.

The last four looks with the white doves are incredible. I'd want all of that.

The rest of it is way too boring and militarized and shitty.

I think KVA's mainline is decent. Although most of this seems pretty generic, that long zip hoodie on look #10 seems pretty cool.

I like this a bit, love the boxy fit on the coats since they have some nice drape towards the bottom, and the jacket with toggles is reminiscent to one of my favorite NN collections, funny how he has bird prints to further remind me of it, hah.

People are forever going to compare the newest line to Slimane era because to most people, that stuff defined Dior in a modern way.

I have no interest in KVA. At all. I don't think he's a bad tailor when it comes to fits and cuts but I think his design is uninteresting and generally pretty cliche. With his namesake, he seemed like he wanted to be Rick Owens...his footwear being especially bad in my eyes.

I sympathize with anyone stepping into Dior at the time, taking the reins. I'm sure Mr. Van Assche is a wonderful guy. I just don't think he's a great designer, especially compared to his contemporaries. When I see the line in stores, I wonder exactly who is buying his stuff but I guess I wonder that about most designers..

I almost think the color palette is monotone enough to be interesting but the hats feel WTF and not in a good way. Almost like an afterthought when the hair stylist didn't show up and this was the solution.

Dior Homme FW12/13: The Loden and Unloden Zone.

                    Sorry. That's all I got.

                      kind of loved it...

this is the first show post hedi that i actually enjoyed almost in full. almost every coat is beautiful, and i like the browns. its fascist style, a fitting tribute to kim jung il, the hats are perfect.

i never liked a single collection in his dior or kva line, but one still of him bowing at the end for ss2011 caught my eye- his pants fit sexy, and not in a femme or juvenile way, but in a masculine way. his clothes drape in a way that hedi slimane did not. i have grown somehow to appreciate this- his clothes are a kind of straight drag that for me is almost more subversive, in a more subtle and understated manner, than anything hedi slimane did. a woman could wear these clothes and be sexy just as much as a woman could wear hedi's mens line- it is somehow still a deconstruction of masculine sex appeal. the masculinity is a projection, not inherent- the slouchiness is built into the clothes, not into the person wearing them.

I like this much more than the last few collections from KVA, especially the Coat in #7 and those outfits with doves. Finally, he found a beautiful motif for DH.

said it already and I will say it again
in terms of creating collections that were shown on the runway, Slimane and Pohklov in his Cloak heyday were the two most gifted to come along

theirs was a vision so powerful and precise that is hard to surpass
Slimane needs to be designing again, his absence is a shameful waste of his talents...........and with this seasons Collection Pohklov seems to be regaining some of his magic that was at Cloak, and even Versace to an extent......and I am saying that just from the shapes and proportions alone
“You know,” he says, with a resilient smile, “it is a hard world for poets.”
                              .................................................. .......................
