StyleZeitgeist Pop-Up in New York

As part of our 10th anniversary celebration we will open a pop-up shop inside the new storefront location of Atelier New York. We will carry exclusive items from many designers we have supported over the years and who have graciously agreed to create exclusive products for the shop. All of the products are either new styles or have been customized in some way. Most come in limited editions of three to five pieces. Some come in editions of ten or eleven. In the coming days we will begin releasing product imagery. I will try my best to be at the pop-up every day, so come and say hi.

Atelier New York Store Opening

After being cooped up in a tenth floor gallery space in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood, Atelier New York, the iconic shop that has been instrumental in promoting the way we dress now, has finally moved to a storefront location in Greenwich Village. It quietly opened its doors this past weekend at its new address, 20 West 8th St. The new interior has retained some of Atelier’s original fixtures, such as the long marble table and the fur-lined dressing rooms.

Gallery Aesthete Store Opening

On August 18th Gallery Aesthete reopened in Chicago. Moving from an intentionally hidden location in the city’s heart, the boutique is now situated in a storefront location in the Wicker Park neighborhood. The gallery’s brutalist design is a collaboration between interior architect Lukas Machnik and Gallery Aesthete’s owner, Stephen Naparstek. Formerly a menswear store, the newly expanded store now includes a carefully selected womenswear section, featuring designers such as Rick Owens and Shaun Leane.

ARGUROS

The new online jewelry shop Arguros is the brainchild of Karlo Steel, the former co-owner and mastermind behind the iconic New York menswear boutique Atelier, which played a major role in promoting the menswear avant-garde since its inception in 2002.

MORATORIUM JEWELRY

It’s jewelry week at StyleZeitgeist, and today we would like to introduce you to MORATORIUM STUDIO, an independent silver and fine jewelry brand designed by Jeanette Lai in New York City. We love the clean, geometric lines of her designs that fall in line with our own philosophy of minimalism. We are equally enamored with her deceptively simple silver jewelry that also comes in blackened silver, and her fine, diamond encrusted creations. Actually, we liked it so much that we decided to offer a selection of MORATORIUM for sale on our e-commerce website, OtherFashion (other pieces are available by request). All jewelry is made to order in New York City.

BORIS BIDJAN SABERI BARCELONA SHOP

Boris Bidjan Saberi, whose meticulously and complexly constructed menswear graces the racks of carefully picked boutiques around the world, has quietly opened his own boutique in Barcelona, his adapted hometown, some time ago. It is nestled in the industrial district of Poblenou, Barcelona’s once run-down textile industry hub that is now enjoying a renaissance and that still has large industrial spaces suited to Saberi’s vision. It is his only boutique besides his New York City outpost.

THE NEW DOVER STREET MARKET: MAINSTREAMING THE AVANT-GARDE

London, United Kingdom – There are now three Dover Street Markets in the world (plus I.T Beijing Market, run by the same company), and none of them located in Dover Street. Following a 200% rent hike in its eponymous location, London’s most forward-thinking mini-department store has moved to Haymarket. The new outlet officially opened last week and is 3 times bigger than the original.

SHOP:CASE – SVMOSCOW

When SVMOSCOW came on our radar we were pleasantly surprised that a forward-looking store like this could exist in Moscow. Hidden away in a loft-like setting without a shop window in the middle of Russia’s capital, with sparse interior in earthy tones, the boutique breaks all the stereotypes of a gaudy, in-your-face “Russian style” that Westerners are accustomed to. SVMOSCOW carries a cutting-edge mix of brands like Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester, and Yohji Yamamoto, among others. It was the first shop in Russia to buy Haider Ackermann and Vetements, and exclusively carry designers like Leon Emanuel Blanck and Goti.

RICK OWENS LOS ANGELES 1

Rick Owens Opens Los Angeles Store

The other week Rick Owens opened his first LA store inside a former ribbon factory. The 5,200-square-foot concrete, brutalist space was designed by architect Anna Tumani, a long time collaborator. Main features of the store include a fog emitting wall and a floor to ceiling tank.
