GUIDI Sponsors an Art Contest

GUIDI, the Italian leather tannery and shoemaker, is making its second foray into the world of art by sponsoring an open art contest that will allow any aspiring or established artist to submit their work. The work of the contest’s winners will be exhibited by GUIDI in a gallery space in Berlin during the city’s next Gallery Weekend with an opening reception on April 28th, 2017.

Anrealage F/W17 Women’s – Paris

We would like to present to you Anrealage’s Fall/Winter 2017 Women’s Paris collection. This season Anrealage made use of robotic arm technology in collaboration with Japanese sculptor Kohei Nawa / SANDWICH carving 2 dresses out of a denim fabric roll.

Abasi Rosborough

I first met Abdul Abasi and Greg Rosborough of Abasi Rosborough several years ago at Colibri, the textile and garment dyeing studio in New York while they were working on their first collection. It is rare in New York to see a brand that produces menswear that transcends the usual tropes of streetwear or “classic with a twist.” What I saw in their work from day one is real design – thoughtful, deliberate, painstaking – especially evident in the way they approached tailoring by making it relevant to the way men dress today. I continued to follow their impressive work each season.

Rick Owens: Butt Muscle

During the men’s fashion week in Paris some days ago instead of his usual quiet dinner at home, Rick Owens threw a dance party the day after the show. The occasion was a new video released by Christeene, a drag singer who is Owens’s favorite. The video featured Owens and his partner Michele Lamy doing what they do best, terrorizing accepted aesthetic and sexual norms. You can see the video on Dazed’s website, so we prefer to stick with the imagery from the party itself. Our crew was in attendance, bien sur. Enjoy!
