    Spring/Summer 08 Sales

    Well, it looks like Saks decided to beat all records Indifferent Today and tomorrow - take 40% off on all designer collections.  I went, and there is a decent selection of Junya Watanabe, a few Yohji pieces (crazy pants with tons of buttons and a few jackets), a ton of Jil Sander, a ton of McQueen, Iseey Miyake, and lots of other things we don't care about (oh, and Dior - an unclassified category in itself).

    And Barneys is cleverly having a 40% sale on Monday, on "selected" merchandise.  The perfect place to spend $300 or $600, no? eyeroll

    ps. did you happen to look at women's YY or Junya?

    no, i was on tight schedule sad i would think it's worth checking out. you can always hit barneys today and do a pre-sale.  May 1, wow, the sales are really early.

    Faust, i don't think it's the start of the sales--I think it's an incentive to shop timed to go along with the tax incentive.

    i wish i had realized this morning...feeling a little lazy now, especially after reading Beer thread. ninja

    you mean to barneys?  I don't know, when they say "selected" brands, it's usually stuff i'm not interested in.  i may go to saks in the morning...i don't think i can deal with rush hour traffic.

    Yeah, I called in some purchases over the phone yesterday when I got the Barneys sale card and they'll ship and charge me on Monday.

    For all concerned, all Rick Owens -clothing and shoes - go on sale at 40% off, I was told. Reserve now.

    Soo.....anyone doing NYC pickups? smirk

    Seems to me deliveries are coming in later than usual, with sales earlier too. Tough times for retailers (not that I feel particularily bad for them).

    Re: Spring/Summer 08 Sales

    did the same as bakla! i called every location with rick owens, and pretty much all thats left are jeans in small sizes, leathers in large sizes (not sure about the sleeveless ones though), and some random shorts and sweaters in large sizes. picked up the moto vest in black. yesssssss.

    rice -- saw the two tone leather in san francisco. not sure what size!

    ps, i'd be willing to do a SF proxy for anyone interested.

    Re: Spring/Summer 08 Sales

    nope, beverly hills cant sell rick. they may have the two tone leather i returned there, but beware -- it's defective. the arms are sewed unevenly and the ribbed portions do not match.

    the two tone is like $2750 and the moto vest is $2330.

    ahahahaa that was fast. i dunno though, heres how the sizing on that piece goes:

    XS = 42
    S = 44
    M = 46
    L = 48
    XL = 50

    if you're a 50 then you're good.
