The collection as a whole doesn't appeal to me too much, but those sculpted skirts are impressive. Does anybody know how they were made?

A lot of it seems pretty dated, and some of the colors are pretty tacky. I do like the sculpted skirts/gowns though.

...I mean the ephemeral, the fugitive, the contingent, the half of art whose other half is the eternal and the immutable.

sculpted skirts and collars are interesting. Don't care for the colors or the embroidery or the silks or much of anything else. Seems like its all over the place. And its not even as fun as they usually are.

This seems more conceptual than practical, but as a show I think it's pretty fun, not something to take too seriously.

I really can't think of a single good thing to say about this. I find its ugliness almost astonishing, and the concept - usually the last saving grace of V & R - flimsy, and rather halfheartedly executed.

Why are these guys still in business? They haven't done a good collection since 2002. (OK, I'm exaggerating somewhat, but the past several years have been overwhelmingly dire.)

while they are on the same grand stage as everyone else, they have never been first tier designers in my book..............I often find their work too heavy and not as diverse as I would like, but amidst that I can give them an A for effort, as I really do believe they make an effort.
I really like this, nothing really wearable, but something to smile about

Agree, their solipsism has become vapid. I did not get the memo, did they hire Bernard Willhelm to design for them and he got someone else to design his own line? Cause that's what it looks like this season.

this collection is awful. I saw the V&R documentary some months ago, I thought some pieces were interesting - but this gives me a headache, I don't think it's fun to look at either.

immediately reminded me of Hussein, but not in a good way.

this is usually the case with all their shows and as for the fun factor, this pales in comparison to some of their top notch shows.

That's just the problem, isn't it: at heart they aren't actually designers at all, but conceptual artists - and very talented ones at that. Their couture work was almost invariably brilliant. Since they switched to ready-to-wear and have had to create actual salable products, they've fared very poorly. They're still able to put on a fun and clever show now and then, but as far as collections go, they've been like 4 for 20 in my book, with this one being something of a nadir.
