yeah spoke to someone about nail rings the other day and they were convinced it was Cartier's invention.

Actually - it was designed by Aldo Cipullo ca. 1971 for Cartier. There was an exhibit of these designs in April this year - so yeah Aldo + Cartier came up with this before Carol Christian Poell.

shhh, Carol invented everything from nail rings to taped seams, to overlock seams, to luminescent fabric, to visible inner construction. And the rest was invented by CD. Didn't you know?

Well, many of us know that Margiela did it before Poell, but I had a feeling Margiela swiped it from somewhere, as he often did, but I didn't think it'd be from Cartier, haha. Maybe someone else has done it too.

I agree - especially the aldo cipullo pieces - the nail pieces, the love bracelet - well almost everything aldo cipullo did was beautiful
