That's absolutely stunning, is it in serbia and what do they represent?

Showed the said images to a friend whom grew up in Hungary, here was his response

"Some of them are beautiful as a sculpture, but it is difficult to separate those from the idea and the era behind.
Maybe the world would not be more empty without these abstract monuments... "

the 5 lightbox additions to the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City, designed by Steven Holl Architects. these have been around since 2007.

i don't know how they pay the bills–they have an attendance of less than 500k/year...

Agreed, I like it when extensions are added that are true to the era the were built in and the technologies used to create them, as opposed to mimicking the looks of the original building.

it's not exactly cool interiors or whatever, but i'm window shopping for apartments and thought it was nice for the price range. i'm familiar with this building–it used to be a school and there's parking across the street, which is unheard of in that neighborhood..

i think when i'm done looking, i'm going to move to pennsylvania and commute..

That looks cool at first sight, but ecologically speaking it's maybe one of the worst idea ever.

It would be indeed dramatic for a river, but even in moats many forms of life are developping. It's never good to build something that is totally blocking flows imo.
