I think they look awesome, but only the black on black version. Especially the waxed one from women's FW09. The blue denim one looks tacky as hell, and so does the version with the four zippers on the front.

I personally like (1) but the only concern is if they are too short (height: 16.5 centimetres) , the 2nd VR is about 19 centimetres

The backzips are much better than the rest imho. The AMD come close, but I really don't like the leather or the ankle length.
